Gender equality and LGBTIQASB+ communities

While the relationship between gender equality and LGBTIQA+ Sistergirl and Brotherboy communities of different sexualities, relationships, genders, bodies and kinships is not new, this has not always been reflected in formal policies, frameworks and institutions. In our local context, a growing body of contemporary policy and evidence across government and non-government stakeholders explicitly address the importance and experiences of LGBTIQASB+ people, or people with diverse Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression and Sex Characteristics (SOGIESC) within gender equality frameworks, or specific domains of gender equality such as health, economic security, workforce participation and caring responsibilities:
