March 2026
As of October 2025, QTWAV has embarked on a 2-year workplan with funding from the Queensland Department of Families, Seniors, Disability Services and Child Safety to provide workforce development support to Queensland's Domestic and Family Violence and Sexual Violence sectors. This is a significant step forward in our activities, and will see a step up of the QTWAV secretary into a full-time project coordination role. Our workplan involves a range of key activities, including:
Workforce training and professional development
Support for LGBTIQA+ Sistergirl and Brotherboy workers in the DFSV sector
Resource development
Consultation and policy support
As you might imagine, we are incredibly proud and privileged to be able to carry this work forward. While our capacity with a single full-time role makes regular news updates a challenge, we would love to hear from you, especially if you think our support might help your work and/or workplace. Feel free to email us at info@qtwav.net to get in touch.

QTWAV members in WorkUp QLD Spark Webinar: Quality Practice Elements for Queensland MBCs
A recent ANROWS evaluation of the Northern Territory Men's Behaviour Change Programs generated a new set of Quality Practice Elements (QPEs). Using research and practice knowledge, the QPEs focus on continuous improvement to enhance the effectiveness and safety of MBCPs. They were designed to be useful for anyone delivering MBCPs, no matter the context or location.
This SPARK webinar tests that theory by introducing the QPEs to Qld MBCP practitioners.
QTWAV members Dr Brodie and Billie (Secretary) join practitioner colleagues Kelly, Erin and Mark to discuss the QPEs and respond to questions such as:
Are the QPEs relevant for our practice?
How might we use them to enhance our practice?
What value can they bring to our sector?
QTWAV members in Resurgence: A podcast series about Queer Survivorhood

In 2023 BRISSC welcomed queer, trans, and gender diverse victim-survivors of sexual violence for an 8-week support group. Members of that group came together with us in 2024 to make this community-led podcast exploring justice, connection & community in a queer/gender-diverse victim-survivor lens.
Resurgence is a podcast series centering the voices of queer, trans & gender diverse survivors of sexual violence & the workers in the sector who support them. We are so proud and thankful to community members and workers who offered their voices and wisdom for this podcast.
The Resurgence podcast is available below and on all major podcast platforms! This page will be updated as episodes come out weekly from Feb 20th, 2025

A big thankyou to Queensland Gives.
QTWAV's website has been made possible through funding from a Queensland Gives General Fund 2024 grant. This grant has also enabled us to continue to strengthen our governance mechanisms, helping to ensure our continued strength as an uncincorporated, community-led organisation.
